AI applications must ensure that technology enhances human life and promotes societal well-being, prioritizing ethical considerations.

Irina Mocanu is professor at the Computer Science Department from National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest and member of the Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Agent Systems Laboratory. She received B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD degree from Politehnica Bucharest. Also, she obtained the post-doctoral diploma from the same university, with the ambient assisted living project: AmIHomCare: Ambiental Intelligent System for Home Medical Assistance. She is doing research in human-centric AI, computer vision, medical image understanding, assistive systems, artificial intelligence in games. She published over 150 research papers in journals and international conferences (h-index ISI-WOS 7, Scopus 9, Scholar 12). She also conducted hundreds of AI graduation and master thesis. From 2021 She is PhD habilitated. Currently she is coordinating 4 PhD students in the domain of healthcare: assistive methods: daily action recognition, people tracking using multiple cameras and medical images (MRI analysation to detect the stage of dementia). She coordinated several projects (funded by European Union and Romania) in the domain of active and assisting living. Also, she is MC Member for 2 Cost.
