He is currently a professor in the Department of Automation and Industrial Informatics of the Faculty of Automation and Computers, PhD supervisor in the Doctoral School of Automation and Computer Science, National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, responsible of the Laboratory ” Innovative Processes and Products for Increasing the Quality of Life” from PRECIS Center, Vice-dean with research activity in the period 2012-2016. He works in four main areas: Artificial Intelligence (especially neural networks in image processing), Wireless Sensor Networks, Data Processing, and Robotic Systems. He has published over 400 papers in international journals/conferences and 20 books. IEEE member.
