With over 20 years of experience in academic environment, research, entrepreneurship, management, business planning and software engineering, Ioan Stefan has a vast experience in order to quickly understand business opportunities and research needs.
Ioan Stefan is currently President of Advanced Technologies Research Institute with the rank of Vice-Rector, within National University for Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest. He was also vice-dean for international cooperation and business environment within Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers.

Dr. eng Ioan Stefan Sacala holds a degree in Automation and Computer Science and a degree in Political Geography, a Master in Information Systems and a PhD degree in Automation and Control Systems. He is currently Full Professor and PhD supervisor within Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science Faculty, National University for Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest.

Professional experience of Ioan Sacală is based on the research achieved in the implementation of different national and international research projects both as coordinator and member. He is evaluator within different national and international research projects. He is author / co-author of various journal articles, books / book chapters, member of the editorial board in different journals and conferences and he has attended numerous conferences either as participant or keynote speaker.
Ioan Sacală is also expert within the Ministry of Research and has been also a technical expert within the Ministry of Justice in the fields of Computers, Informatics, Automation and Industrial Informatics, Networks and Communication Software.
