I’m an AI enthusiast focused on Natural Language Processing and creative applications, PhD graduate, who enjoys teaching, guiding students on projects, and balancing work with swimming and wine tasting.

“Go hard, or go home (anonymous author)”

I am passionate about artificial intelligence, with a focus on Natural Language Processing and creative Artificial Intelligence applications like music generation applications. I’m especially interested in building intelligent systems that can understand and respond to human dialog, and I enjoy exploring new ways to integrate AI into creative and practical fields. Beyond research, I find it rewarding to share knowledge with students and guide them in bringing their ideas to life.

Since joining the Faculty of Automation and Computers, I’ve had the opportunity to work on exciting projects, such as *Optimize* and *InsureAI*, which have allowed me to dive deeper into NLP and AI for real-world applications.

I also currently several courses—Advanced Web Techniques for master’s students in Internet Systems Engineering, Algorithm Design for third-year FILS students, and Python programming for Business Intelligence in the Advanced Analytics for Business master’s program. I enjoy seeing students develop their skills in these areas, and I supervise both Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis’ to help them develop their projects.

My academic path started at the University of Pitesti, where I completed up to my master’s in computer science, followed by a PhD in AI at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest. There, I focused on developing AI systems for music generation and question answering, which laid the foundation for my current work.

With over four years of programming experience in full-stack web development (Java Spring, ASP.NET, Vue.js) and Big Data, plus a networking certification (CCENT), I’m always looking for ways to stay versatile. I’ve also authored several scientific articles published in ISI-ranked journals and conferences.

And on a totally unrelated note, when I’m not wrapped up in my AI projects or teaching, I’m probably trying not to drown at the swimming pool, convincing my friends I’m fun outside of a lab, or pretending to know the difference between “notes of oak” and “a hint of berry” at wine tasting classes (I actually know them).
