Denis Ilie-Ablachim was born in Tulcea, Romania, in 1994. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania, in 2017 and 2019, respectively. He is currently a Teaching Assistant and a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, University Politehnica of Bucharest, where he has worked since 2019. He is also a Ph.D. student. The main research topics involve sparse representations and kernel methods with applications in classification algorithms and anomaly detection.
”Pursue excellence in ev- erything you do.”
Since high school, I have developed a keen interest in programming and technology, which led me to pursue a career that aligns with these interests. I followed the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers studies at the University Politehnica of Bucharest. During this period, I discovered my passion for research and innovation. This was the reason why I pursued a Ph.D. in signal processing and machine learning.
My research focuses primarily on statistical learning, sparse learning, and kernel methods. These concepts have practical applications in classifi- cation algorithms and anomaly detection. I also strive to explore other interesting fields related to signal processing and machine learning.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, swimming, cycling, and running, which help me maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. These activities provide relaxation, inspire creativity, and enhance my productivity.
