Loretta Ichim is a Professor at the Department of Automation and Industrial Informatics, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest, with over 20 years of experience in both teaching and research.

Loretta Ichim has been a Ph.D. supervisor in Systems Engineering since 2019 and is a member of the Doctoral School of Automation and Computers at POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest. She leads the “Innovative Processes and Products for Quality of Life Improvement” laboratory within the PRECIS Center. Her research focuses on complex image and signal processing using AI techniques, machine learning algorithms for data processing, telemedicine, electronic health records, health information management, fractal applications in complex networks in engineering and medicine, wireless sensor networks, UAVs, and integrated smart monitoring systems.

She has published over 25 articles in specialized journals, 150 research papers in conference/workshop proceedings, 6 books/chapters, directed 4 national research projects, participated in over 12 national projects, 2 international projects, and holds 2 patents. Additionally, she has collaborated with researchers from prestigious national and international institutions and industry experts.
