Nirvana Popescu is full professor at University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB), Computer Science Department, since 2014. She received her Bachelor of Engineering in UPB, Computer Science Department, followed by M.Sc at the same department. In 2003, she became PhD in Computer Science with a thesis called “Self-organizing intelligent fuzzy systems”, at UPB. Meanwhile she worked and studied as PhD guest student at the University of Bielefeld, Germany. Her main research interests are neural networks, intelligent systems, fuzzy logic and control, eHealth systems, cognitive and autonomous robots, reconfigurable computers. She is the leader of the Laboratory for “Reconfigurable high-confidence medical devices” and she coordinates research projects in the field of Medical Rehabilitation Robotics, Medical Wearable Sensors and AI-based medical evaluations. Since 2016, she coordinates doctoral research thesis on the topics mentioned above. She is author of 10 books and more than 100 papers presented at prestigious international conferences and published in journals with high impact factor acquiring more than 600 citations in high indexed journal articles.
