Our lab is dedicated to exploring the forefront of robotic systems and artificial intelligence applications, driving advancements that have the potential to revolutionize various industries and improve everyday life. We strive to develop intelligent robotic systems that can seamlessly integrate into human environments, enhancing capabilities in sectors such as healthcare, education, and service industries.
We research and solve problems at the intersection of engineering and biology, with the goal of a greater understanding of biological information processing and creating of intelligent computational systems.
We carry out theoretical and applied research to address real-world challenges posed by the complexity of technical and natural systems. We also take advantage of the biological mechanisms that provide natural systems with autonomy and intelligence in order to design engineering systems that are able to solve complex, real-world problems, to adapt and to evolve to higher performance levels.

Research Areas

1. Autonomous Systems: We design and develop autonomous robots capable of navigating and interacting with complex environments with minimal human intervention. Our work includes advancements in new control paradigms, path planning, obstacle avoidance, and environmental mapping.

2. Machine Learning and AI: Our research focuses on creating robust AI algorithms that enable robots to learn from data, adapt to new situations, and make intelligent decisions. We explore deep learning, reinforcement learning, and neural networks to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve. Our additional focus of application is in computational biology and bioinformatics.

3. Human-Robot Interaction: Understanding and improving the ways humans and robots interact is crucial for the seamless integration of robotic systems. Our studies in this area aim to develop intuitive interfaces, improve communication, and ensure safety and efficiency in collaborative tasks.

Our lab is equipped with a large number of mobile robots, drones, EEG systems, and a humanoid robot.
